The 5 micron grade is the workhorse of RO pre-treatment — fine enough to protect membranes from the sediment that would otherwise foul them, open enough that it does not blind over in a week.

We manufacture these cartridges at our own factory in Zhengzhou, China — not through a trading intermediary. That means custom lengths, non-standard end caps and private-label packaging are all possible, and the price you are quoted is the factory price. Minimum order is 100 pieces per model, free samples are available (you cover the courier), and production runs 7-15 days after deposit.

Flow depends on length and housing. A standard 10-inch 2.5-inch OD cartridge is typically run at 5-10 litres per minute with an initial pressure drop below 0.05 bar. A 20-inch version handles roughly double. Size for an initial pressure drop under 0.1 bar so you leave room for loading.
Change at 2.0 bar (30 psi) differential pressure, or every 2-4 weeks in continuous RO service, whichever comes first. Waiting until flow visibly drops means the cartridge has already been bypassing sediment. Record the differential pressure at every change so you can see whether the interval is set correctly.
Five micron is the normal choice. One micron gives better membrane protection but blinds faster and costs more per litre filtered, which is why most plants run 5 micron as the main pre-filter and reserve 1 micron for polishing or for a second stage after a coarser filter.
No. PP melt blown media is a mechanical depth filter — it removes particulate only. Chlorine removal needs activated carbon, and since free chlorine destroys polyamide RO membranes, a carbon block stage is normally fitted after the PP filter and before the membrane.
